I'm Dr. Marianne Bourke, a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting adults through anxiety, trauma, depression, and life’s challenging transitions. I founded Illawarra Clinical Psychology to offer thoughtful, evidence-based care in a space grounded in warmth, respect, and emotional safety.

We offer one-to-one therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. Common Questions
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy sessions are strictly confidential to provide a secure and trustworthy space for open communication and healing.
What to Expect in Sessions?
At your initial appointment for individual therapy you can expect a thorough assessment and treatment plan will take at least 75 minutes. Based on individual needs, typically ongoing appointments are 50 minutes.
Workshops are 2 hours in duration and are held weekly on a Monday or Tuesday.
What issues can therapy address?
At Illawara Clinical Psychology a wide array of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and personal growth challenges.
Is Illawarra Clinical Psychology a service for Children?
No, we are a service for adults 18 years and older.
Is there a waitlist that I can join?
Yes. At times our service is not able to offer appointments for new clients for individual therapy. However, you will be offered a place in one of our workshops with the option for combined one-on-one therapy when available.
Do I need a referral?
You do not need a referral however if you discuss your concerns with your GP you may be eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan and referral. This will entitle you to the Medicare rebate.
What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?
We have a cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please give us at least 24 hours/ 1-day notice to avoid $120 late cancellation fee.
