Illawarra Clinical Psychology offers

assessment, diagnostic and treatment services for

adults experiencing mental health conditions that range from mild to complex.

Evidenced based Cognitive Bahaviour Therapy

is available as brief or long term treatment plans 

tailored to meet the

needs of the individual.

Therapeutic interventions are available to assist people experiencing:

anxiety and stress related difficulties; mood and emotion regulation disorders;

adjustment difficulties associated with grief and loss; 

attachment and relationship issues; suicidal ideations, self harm,

complex trauma and personality disorder. 

Clinical Psychologist

Dr Marianne Bourke is a Clinical Psychologist

with advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of a range of mental health disorders.

She has worked in community mental health services and specialist services for people who have complex needs.

She specialises in working with people who have trauma histories, and complex presentations such as personality disorder. 

Marianne provides supervision

to registered health professionals and clinical research students in their

honours and PhD studies at the University of Wollongong.

She has published in the area of personality disorder and  relational complexities.

Developing a trusted relationship

with a health professional to explore and understand 

how thoughts, feelings and behaviours

influence each other, can help in making

positive changes in life, improve wellbeing, and

foster relationships that promote compassion

towards oneself and others. 

 

The first consultation is for 60 minutes.

This time is spent gaining a

comprehensive

understanding of your current difficulties.

Treatment options and a treatment plan

will be discussed and tailored according

to your needs.

Ongoing consultations are 

50 minutes in

duration and can be arranged on a

weekly, fortnightly or needs basis.

WHAT TO EXPECT

 

REFERRAL & MEDICARE REBATE

You do not need a referral to attended Illawarra Clinical Psychology however a referral from your GP or Psychiatrist under a Mental Health Care Plan entitles you to a Medicare rebate.

 

A Medicare rebate of $129.55  is available for up to 20 sessions per calendar year.  Alternatively you can claim a rebate from your private health fund, provided you have appropriate cover.

CANCELLATIONS

All scheduled appointment times are reserved in advanced and set aside for you. If you miss an appointment or cancel  with less than 48 hours notice,  a cancellation fee of $120 may be charged. This fee cannot be claimed through Medicare or private health cover.
